A Riverside tradition

California Lounge opened its doors on Mission Inn Avenue in 1951, when Riverside was still a city of orange groves and front porches. What began as a modest bakery — a single deck, a wood-fired oven, and a handful of loyal neighbors — has grown into one of the Inland Empire's most trusted sources for artisan bread and curated groceries.
Three generations later, we still bake before dawn. We still source from local farms. We still believe that the bread you bring home should be worth the walk.

We don't rush fermentation. We don't cut corners on ingredients. What you taste is the result of time, technique, and a stubborn refusal to accept "good enough."
Sourdough
Our starter, kept alive since day one, produces loaves with a open crumb, a shatteringly crisp crust, and a tang that deepens with every hour of fermentation.
Viennoiserie
Croissants laminated by hand at 4 a.m., brioche enriched with Normandy butter, and pain au chocolat that breaks with a audible sigh. These are not shortcuts.
The Pantry
